We are entering a new age of automotive – one in which we are redefining both the hardware as well as the software architectures. Whether discussing Zonal Controller versus Domain Controller or Distributed Compute versus Central Compute, the only aspect that is certain about the SDV is that there will be an increasing reliance on software. As such, software not only defines the vehicle, but also the value of the vehicle, and of the value of the company building it. Therefore, it is imperative that proper care and methodologies be considered when determining how that software will be created and maintained.
